Official name: Fly where others die
Show/barn name: Raven, demon

Birth Date: January 5, 2007
Height: 17.4 hands

Records: First year: 1/1/2 out of 8
Build: Slender, but véry musculair. Typical racehorse, but slightly better proportioned. Rectangulair conformation, strongly diagonal shoulder, refined face. Straight back, high set tail, small hard hooves.
Personality:
Raven is very dominant. He isn't actually mean, it's just that he isn't the type to run from dangers, he fights. Luckilly he does run on the track. Raven just can't be ruled by anyone or anything, and nobody should try. He's a born leader, hard on the outside, but soft on the inside. He's all in for the mares to. At his young age he has 3 foals, all three from 1 escape. He can be very charming if he wants to be.
Story:
Horses aren't born evil, everyone knows that, and it's true. However, horse are born dominant, and Raven was clearly one of those. If such a horse is born, who he will be only depends on the trainer. The one may try to force them to subdue. Sometimes that's the right method. But not for Raven. He kept fighting, kept bossing the humans arround. They got him under saddle, and one the race track, but it didn't work. He was too bussy fighting with his rider to concentrade on the race. He ended last in his first 2 races and was sold.
He got some more training at the new place, here the people were mellow and didn't care what raven did, as long as he would run.
At first it was okay, but not great. Raven wasn't really ridden... There was just a human on his back while he did what he wanted. He entered in 2 more races. He was better, but still... Not what they had espected. The stallion didn't quite get the point of running, and the humans weren't giving him any directions of what he was suposed to do either. He always rushed out of the gate, bucking and rearing, then sprinting for a while before he went on to the actual race. His third race he ended 5th, behind some horses he should have beaten with ease. His fourth race had a little harder competition, more stallions. Raven ended 3rd, only half a lenght behind #1.
Obviously his owners were convinced now they had bought a good horse. But they put him back on the market anyway, because he was a handfull and they had other good horses. And offcourse, he is now worth 3 times his previous prize.

He wasn't sold for a while and ran 2 more races. A 1st place, and a 4th place.

At this point we saw him, he was racing on the same terain as our stallion, Puppet. Raven ended 3rd in his race, not too bad considering the competition. Howeverm we weren't convinced yet. This black Devil was really expencive after all, we needed to be sure. So we went to see his next race, the last of this year. We looked at how he was handled, and warmed up. What we saw was that he basically entered the tracks cold, and the ridder did nothing but sitting on his back while Raven was just biting inmobile objects and kicking everything close enough.

And then the race, It was breathtaking to watch. It was a long race and the first round was terribly slow, so raven took the lead without a second thought. The other horses were just falling behind farther and farther, when suddely some Rose grey horse breaks out and leaps forward. Clearly a much better trained horse. But Raven Noticed the horse on time and it was a neck to neck race over the last quarter mile. Raven lost with less then a noselenght, and he wouldn't stop running until he had gotten in front of the other. When finally he did stop, he looked as if he had been running in the rain, he was soo wet... But he had come in second, while entering cold. We needed to have this guy. Sure the Rose grey was amazing too, but he wasn't for sale.
But while we went down, looking to find Raven's owner it was pretty obvious why Raven hadn't been sold till now, the way he had by now thrown of his rider and is prancing around over the racetrack, continiously kicking out at people trying to catch him, and avoiding all hands.
